The working principle of three-way catalytic converter
When the engine exhauzes through the exhaust pipe, the three toxic gases CO, HC, and NOX are produced through the purifier in the three-way catalytic reactor, which enhances the activity of the three gases and carries out oxidation and reduction reactions.
CO is oxidized to colorless, non-toxic carbon dioxide (CO2) at high temperatures, and HC compounds are oxidized to water (H2O) and carbon dioxide (CO2) at high temperatures.
NOX is reduced to nitrogen (N2) and oxygen (02).
Three harmful gases become harmless gases, so that the exhaust can be purified.
